  • How is The Pack’s business model structured?

    The Pack operates as: • A Pty Ltd Company (owns streaming technology & IP). • A Platform Co-op (manages membership and subscriptions). • And intends to develop a Not-for-Profit (NFP Foundation) (supports diversity in music recording and artist grants). The Pack is governed by a 12-member Board with input from co-op members. Full members have voting rights to shape the platform’s future.

  • Why use a cooperative model?

    Co-ops are owned by members, not investors, ensuring musicians have control over distribution and decision-making.

  • How can local governments support The Pack?

    Local Government, Government Agencies, and other cultural institutions can become patrons, funding local music promotion and cultural sustainability. Patron tiers range from $1,000–$35,000 per year based on population size. What do local governments gain from supporting The Pack? • Cultural data insights to inform arts and tourism investments. • Strengthening of local music economies and creative industries. • Enhanced place-making initiatives to build community engagement.

  • How can listeners support The Pack?

    Listeners provide the funding that directly supports artists through their memberships. They also influence business playlists and help create vibrant local music spaces.

  • How will rewards work for businesses?

    Businesses can offer incentives for listener engagement, such as discounts or freebies in exchange for playlist interactions, driving customer retention and spend.

  • Can businesses customise their playlists?

    Yes. Playlists will evolve based on listener interactions, creating a dynamic, customer-influenced music experience, but businesses can always create their own playlists from our catalogue if they wish!

  • Do businesses need a license to play music?

    Yes. Businesses must hold a OneMusic license to legally play recorded music in Australia.

  • What’s included in the paid membership option?

    For $40/year, artists get a Pack Music Artist Page to sell music, merch, and tickets, plus access to direct marketing tools and an ethical ticketing service.

  • What does it cost to have music on The Pack?

    Nothing! Artists can upload unlimited professionally recorded tracks for free, forever.

  • If I get signed, can I stay on The Pack?

    If your label allows your music to remain on the platform at no cost to The Pack, your music can stay. Otherwise, signed artists are typically unable to participate due to licensing restrictions.
